Marylu Dykstra has been helping companies and non-profits strategize, organize, communicate and teach since forming Sirius Resources LLC in 1999. Marylu formed Sirius Resources spending twelve years in marketing and training with Steelcase, the world’s largest manufacturer of office furniture.

Since forming Sirius Resources, Marylu Dykstra has worked with such non-profits and area companies as Spectrum Health, VaproShield, EPI Concrete Products, X-Rite, Michigan Family Resources, The Office of Youth & Families, West Michigan Sustainable Business Forum and of course, Steelcase.

Marylu Dykstra specializes in strategic planning, marketing and process methodologies and training design. Activities are results-driven, actionable and designed for implementation.

Marylu believes in supporting the West Michigan region and is a member of Local First, Inforum West Michigan, West Michigan Environmental Action Council, is on the board of the West Michigan Sustainable Business Forum and Michigan Coalition Against Homelessness. As a recent “graduate” of Leadership West Michigan, Marylu is now volunteering as vice-chair of marketing on the executive committee.

On the personal side, Marylu is a personal coach, mentor and karate instructor. Marylu has helped individuals and fledgling business consultants launch their careers and business models. Her main hobbies are oil painting, creating pen & ink drawings, mosaics, gardening and reading. As a service to her network and clients, Marylu designed and issues monthly book blogs highlighting some of the best business and leadership books on the market (see book blog).

Before forming Sirius Resources, Marylu Dykstra was manager of knowledge and training for Turnstone, a brand of Steelcase. Marylu was responsible for compiling and delivering key product, marketing and technical information through a variety of delivery methods. As a product manager, Marylu managed the development and profitability of the Home Office product line and the Road Works hospitality line. Prior to her Turnstone tenure, Marylu was a responsible for market and industry research, training developer/facilitator.
